چکیده
This paper investigates the effects of surface wettability and initial conditions on early frost formation for hydrophobic, hydrophilic, bare aluminum flat surfaces. The new data revealed that average droplet sizes were larger size distributions wider hydrophilic than hydrophobic was due to a coalescence phenomenon occurring before droplets froze into ice beads. Because relative high sub-freezing plate temperatures used in this work, plates had smaller impact freezing time. Supersaturation degree temperature difference between air stream controlled times all different types. When testing conducted without cleaning surfaces individual test runs, film deposited which smoothed imperfections, inhibited shape, delayed freezing. A large variation nucleation behavior measured present work intentionally generated cleanness conditions. finding could explain some significant deviations observed from literature studies when comparing diameters similar coatings tests

Evaporation of picoliter droplets on surfaces with a range of wettabilities and thermal conductivities.
The evaporation of picoliter water and ethanol droplets generated by drop-on-demand inkjet printing was investigated on substrates with apparent contact angles between 10^{∘} and 135^{∘} and thermal conductivities between 0.25 and 149 Wm^{-1}K^{-1}. Drying times were calculated from a diffusion-limited model for droplets with both pinned and moving contact lines as a function of droplet diamete...
متن کاملEvaporation Characteristics of Diesel and Biodiesel Fuel Droplets on Hot Surfaces
In CI engines, the evaporation rate of fuel on various hot surfaces, including the combustion chamber, has a significant effect on deposit formation and accumulation, the exhaust emissions of PM and NOx, and their efficiency. Therefore, the evaporation of liquid fuel droplets impinging on hot surfaces has become an important subject of interest to engine designers, manufacturers, and researcher...
متن کاملexperimental and theoretical study of the dynamics of surface evaporation of water droplets on different surfaces
in this paper, the dynamics of evaporation of water droplets on surfaces with different contact angle hysteresis is studied experimentally and theoretically. the evaporation of water droplets on surfaces usually occurs in three distinct stages, namely the constant contact area mode, followed by the constant contact angle mode, and the mixed mode in which both contact angle and contact area are ...

Distinct ice patterns on solid surfaces with various wettabilities.
No relationship has been established between surface wettability and ice growth patterns, although ice often forms on top of solid surfaces. Here, we report experimental observations obtained using a process specially designed to avoid the influence of nucleation and describe the wettability-dependent ice morphology on solid surfaces under atmospheric conditions and the discovery of two growth ...
